Raffel receives NSF CAREER Award

April 21, 2022

Assistant Professor Colin Raffel has received a Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award from the National Science Foundation (NSF). Raffel’s five-year grant, worth more than $535,700, is titled “Collaborative, Communal, and Continual Model Training for Democratizing Machine Learning.” The research will seek to enable community-developed and continually-improved machine learning models.

Chakraborty elected to IEEE Fellows Class of 2022

William R. Kenan, Jr. Distinguished Professor Samarjit Chakraborty was elected a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) for 2022. Chakraborty was recognized for contributions to system-level timing analysis of cyber-physical systems.

Chaturvedi receives NSF CAREER Award

Assistant Professor Snigdha Chaturvedi received a Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Award from the National Science Foundation (NSF). This five-year, $549,700 grant will support Chaturvedi’s continued research of natural language understanding under the context of the narrative and social aspects of language.
