Graduate Women in Computer Science (GWiCS)
GWiCS is a community of female graduate students to connect with each other and others in the Computer Science department, to foster an environment of collaborative research and to be a support system for each other. Some of the events and initiatives GWiCS leads throughout the semester include:
- Monthly social tea times
- Weekend social events
- Career and speaker series
- Mentorship program
Mentorship Program
To improve a sense of community and belonging in the department, we offer mentor-mentee pairings between senior graduate students / post-docs and junior graduate students. This relationship can help students navigate grad school and form lifelong friendships!
Undergraduate Outreach
We are actively collaborating with WiCS to create relationships with undergraduate students in the department and demystify graduate school. We also offer mentor-mentee pairings between graduate and undergraduate students.
