Research Area: Software

Software engineering at UNC-Chapel Hill is built on a long tradition starting with Fred Brooks’s The Mythical Man-Month. It is based on the practice of the discipline and built on the belief that the computer scientist is a toolsmith helping others. Hence, much of the software engineering research is done through collaborations with researchers in other disciplines, using their needs as our driving problems.
