Carolina Data Challenge

Fall

UNC’s data science-oriented hackathon gives participants the opportunity to hack on different datasets from multiple sectors, with awards presented by sponsors based on various criteria.

HackNC

Fall

HackNC is North Carolina’s largest hackathon, attracting students from beyond just the state. Participants have access to hands-on workshops and demos from sponsors, as well as talks covering the latest tech trends.

Pearl Hacks

Spring

Established in 2014, Pearl Hacks is one of the first women/non-binary focused hackathons. The event continues its tradition of creating an encouraging environment for all skill levels to pursue their interests in technology.

AfroPix

Spring

Hosted by the CS student organization Black in Technology, AfroPix is an annual day-long symposium to celebrate Black and Brown coders. The symposium consists of a pre-professional/technical event featuring workshops, mentorship opportunities, and a career fair, followed by a celebratory social event creating community among participants.

Hello CS!

Fall | In-Person

Join us in welcoming students and faculty for a new academic year. Partners are invited to host an activity, give out swag, and start promoting career opportunities.

Resume Reboot

Fall & Spring | Virtual

Interact 1-on-1 with students and provide feedback on their resumes to prepare for the 2023/24 recruiting season.

UNC CS Tech Career Fair

Fall & Spring | In-Person

Meet job-hunting students in a large-scale, in-person career fair. Students will have the opportunity to network with company representatives, including recruiters, interns and alumni.

Fall | Virtual

Host students in a virtual, targeted career fair environment. Students will be invited to visit company virtual “booths“ that will offer both chat and live video options. Booths can be customized and filtered by job postings and job requirements. After the event, partners will receive reporting with recruiter feedback and access to the full resume database.

Career Panel: Hear from Recruiters

Fall | In-Person

Educate students on the recruiting process and build rapport in an informal setting. This event is an opportunity for employers to demystify the hiring process and give insight into life at their company.

Note: Partner participation is limited. Priority will be granted to legacy partners.

Tabling in Sitterson Hall

Fall & Spring | In-Person

Host a company day and engage with students as they come to and from class. UNC CS staff handles promotion and signage for the sponsored table, and employers are invited to bring materials and catering.

Club Connection

Fall & Spring | In-Person

Establish personal connections with our most engaged and innovative students via the UNC CS Club Community. Join for networking, tech topics, or career development. Only partners are able to sponsor student clubs.

Company Career Treks

Spring | In-Person

Encourage students to engage in career exploration and professional development by learning more about your company through an immersive visit to company offices.
