Instructions for Formatting Camera-Ready Final Papers to NDSS 2012

Formatting Information

Templates: Your paper should be formatted according to the IEEE Computing Society Proceedings format. The following templates, style files, and author guides are provided for your convenience. Many of these documents contain statements like "congratulations on having your paper accepted to an IEEE proceedings" -- you may ignore those. The following files are provided solely for your assistance in formatting your papers. Page Limit: ALL papers are limited to 15 pages (plus 5 for references and appendices).

Layout: Consistent with IEEE format, the main body of the text must be single-spaced, two columns, and in 10-point font.

Instructions for Submission of Final Papers

  1. Ensure that your paper:
    • uses single-spaced, two-column format;
    • uses 10-point Times or Times Roman font;
    • contains no page numbers;
    • is no more than 20 pages (for full papers) or 10 pages (for short papers) in length.

  2. Using either of the following two methods, ensure that all fonts in your final PDF are embedded:

    • If using Adobe Reader, from the menu select File->Properties... and then select the Fonts tab. You should see "(Embedded Subset)" next to each font and there should be no Type 3 fonts, as depicted in this image,

    • From a *nix terminal, execute the pdffonts command on your PDF document. The listing should show no Type 3 fonts, and all fonts listed should have "yes" under "emb" and "sub", as depicted in this example listing.

    If you are unable to create a PDF with all fonts embedded, please contact Andrew M. White (amw@cs.unc.edu).

  3. Upload the camera-ready version of your paper using the conference manager at the following URL:

    https://www.easychair.org/account/signin.cgi?conf=ndss2012

  4. For each paper, complete and sign the ISOC copyright form and either fax (+1.[703.326.9881]) or email the form to Terry Weigler (tweigler@isoc.org).
